About Pastor Jeff Mitchell |
He was born into a family of Dairy Farmers in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
One of three children. After graduating from high school joined the United
States Marine Corp. and served in Okinawa, Japan and Norfolk, Va. for
six years before being honorably discharged. Was employed by the Norfolk
Southern Railroad as a dispatcher Controller when God called him to Liberty
University where he met Shelley Hendrix his bride for life. Jeff and Shelley
are the parents of ten children, Micaiah, Schaeffer, Torrey, Elijah, Gideon,
Josiah, Sophia, Jesse David, Gabriel, and Samuel.

After completing his education at Liberty, he was called to Harbor City
Baptist Church as Youth Pastor where he served for five 1/2 years. From
Harbor City Baptist Church he was called to First Baptist Church of Palm
Bay, Fl. as Associate Pastor. After three years in Palm Bay, his former
church of Harbor City Baptist extended an invitation to serve as Senior
Pastor where he has joyfully served since July of 2001.
